first epidemic in the world :: Article Creator The First-ever Outbreak Of Marburg Virus Disease In Rwanda On Saturday, September 28, 2024, the World Health Organization (WHO) reported a first-ever outbreak in Rwanda of the deadly Marburg virus. It is the fourth largest Marburg outbreak documented in modern history. Local health authorities have confirmed 26 cases with six deaths thus far. Cases have occurred across seven of the country's 30 districts.
